The CA Link lets you integrate nearly all commercially available CAD systems with proALPHA online. Online means that the design engineer working in the CAD environment accesses data from modules or design drawings that is managed in proALPHA . By filing his drawings and design components list, he adds to the overall corporate database.

The CA Link also provides a sophisticated change request function. Master parts records and bills of materials derived from the models are kept in proALPHA. There are no redundant data or maintenance-intensive interfaces.

And another plus point: when a new parts list is created, it triggers proALPHA Workflow Automation, telling the other employees in the process chain what action needs to be taken. The drawings and design data produced by the design engineer can be queried and displayed from every proALPHA workstation. So proALPHA looks after important aspects of Engineering Data Management (EDM) or Product Data Management (PDM).
